Repair Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 8, 2026 | Last Updated: September 9, 2026
These Repair Terms & Conditions ("Repair Terms") apply to repair, diagnostic, maintenance, data, mail-in, mobile, on-site, and related services provided by Reboot Lab LLC ("Reboot Lab," "we," "us," or "our").
By authorizing service, submitting a device for service, or otherwise accepting these Repair Terms, the customer ("Customer," "you," or "your") agrees to the following terms.
1. Authorization to Perform Service
You authorize Reboot Lab to inspect, handle, diagnose, disassemble, test, and perform the services you approve on the submitted device or equipment ("Device").
You also authorize reasonable actions necessary to determine the cause of the reported problem and verify the operation of the Device before and after service.
Reboot Lab will not intentionally perform additional chargeable repairs beyond the authorized scope without obtaining additional authorization when required.
2. Authority to Submit the Device
By submitting a Device, you represent that you are its lawful owner or otherwise have authority from the lawful owner to authorize the requested service.
You further represent that the Device is not knowingly stolen or unlawfully possessed.
Reboot Lab may decline or discontinue service when ownership, authorization, device identifiers, activation status, security features, or other circumstances create reasonable concerns regarding lawful possession.
3. Quotes and Estimates
Quotes are based on information available at the time they are prepared.
Unless otherwise stated, a quote is not a guarantee that additional problems will not be discovered after inspection or disassembly.
Part prices and availability may change.
The validity period stated on a quote controls that quote. If authorization is received after the stated validity period, Reboot Lab may provide an updated quote before proceeding.
If additional damage or necessary work is discovered, Reboot Lab may pause service and request authorization before performing additional chargeable work.
4. Diagnostic Service
Some device problems cannot be accurately identified without testing or disassembly.
A diagnostic procedure may reveal problems that were not visible or reported during intake.
A diagnostic fee, when applicable, will be disclosed before the charge is incurred.
Successful diagnosis does not guarantee that a Device can be economically or technically repaired.
5. Pre-Existing Damage and Device Condition
Electronic devices may have hidden, progressive, intermittent, or pre-existing damage.
Examples include:
- liquid or corrosion damage;
- damaged connectors;
- weakened adhesive;
- deteriorated batteries;
- swollen batteries;
- damaged frames or housings;
- cracked glass;
- damaged flex cables;
- previous repair damage;
- missing components;
- stripped or missing screws;
- board-level damage;
- thermal damage; and
- component failure unrelated to the requested repair.
Opening, handling, testing, or disassembling a previously damaged Device may cause an already-weakened component to fail or reveal damage that was not previously apparent.
Reboot Lab will document significant visible condition when reasonably practical.
6. Data and Customer Backups
You are responsible for maintaining an independent backup of important data whenever reasonably possible before service begins.
Repair and diagnostic procedures can involve risks to stored data.
Hardware failure, storage-device failure, software corruption, encryption, liquid damage, pre-existing damage, replacement of storage components, manufacturer security systems, or other circumstances may result in partial or complete data loss.
Unless you specifically purchase or request a data backup or recovery service, Reboot Lab does not assume responsibility for creating an independent backup of the Device.
No representation is made that data can always be preserved or recovered.
7. Optional Reboot Lab Backup Service
When available and requested by the Customer, Reboot Lab may create a temporary backup of accessible customer data before or during service.
Temporary backup data is maintained solely for the purpose of performing the requested service or restoring customer information.
Unless the Customer purchases an available extended-retention option, Reboot Lab will delete its temporary backup after the Device and applicable data have been returned and the service process is completed.
If offered and purchased, Reboot Lab may retain the backup for the stated retention period and applicable fee.
At the end of that retention period, the retained backup will be deleted according to Reboot Lab's normal deletion procedures.
Backup and recovery services cannot guarantee preservation of every file, application, configuration, credential, or other item.
8. Device Passcodes and Access
Certain diagnostics, repairs, testing procedures, and data services may require access to an unlocked Device.
If you provide a passcode or other access method, you authorize Reboot Lab to use that access only as reasonably necessary to perform, test, verify, or document the authorized service.
Technicians should not intentionally access personal content unrelated to the requested service.
You may decline to provide a passcode. However, Reboot Lab may then be unable to perform certain testing or verify that all functions operate correctly.
9. Device Handling and Video Documentation
For security, quality assurance, privacy protection, dispute resolution, and documentation, customer Devices may be handled or repaired within areas subject to video monitoring.
This may include periods during which a Device is unlocked for legitimate diagnostic, repair, or testing purposes.
Recordings are intended to document device handling and technician activity rather than customer content.
10. Parts
Depending on the repair and customer selection, Reboot Lab may use new, used, refurbished, original-equipment, pulled, aftermarket, or third-party components.
Unless specifically represented as manufacturer-original or manufacturer-authorized, replacement components should not be assumed to have been manufactured, supplied, endorsed, or authorized by the Device's original manufacturer.
Where different part grades or options are available, the selected option may be identified on the quote, authorization, ticket, or invoice.
11. Manufacturer Features and Messages
Some manufacturers use software pairing, serialization, calibration, authentication, or other technical systems involving replacement components.
As a result, a repaired Device may display a parts-related notification, service history entry, warning, calibration notice, feature limitation, or similar message even when the replacement component functions properly.
Where reasonably known in advance, Reboot Lab may disclose material limitations associated with a proposed replacement part.
12. Water and Liquid Resistance
Opening a Device can affect factory seals and water- or liquid-resistance characteristics.
Even when replacement adhesive or seals are installed, Reboot Lab does not guarantee that a repaired Device will retain or regain its original manufacturer water-resistance or liquid-resistance rating unless a specific written warranty expressly states otherwise.
Customers should treat repaired Devices as susceptible to liquid exposure.
13. Batteries
Rechargeable batteries are consumable components that naturally deteriorate over time.
Battery runtime and longevity depend on age, usage, charging habits, temperature, software, hardware condition, and other factors.
Replacement of a battery does not guarantee a particular operating duration unless expressly stated in a written warranty.
Reboot Lab may refuse to reinstall or return a battery when doing so would create an unreasonable safety risk or violate applicable shipping or disposal requirements.
14. Liquid-Damaged Devices
Liquid-damaged or corroded Devices are inherently unpredictable.
Cleaning or repairing one affected area does not guarantee that corrosion or damage elsewhere will not cause later failure.
Service performed on a liquid-damaged Device should not be interpreted as restoration of the Device to factory-new condition.
15. Board-Level and Advanced Repair
Microsoldering, board-level repair, data recovery, and similar advanced procedures may involve Devices that are already substantially damaged or nonfunctional.
Such procedures can carry increased risk because of prior electrical, thermal, mechanical, liquid, or component damage.
Any special terms applicable to advanced repair or data recovery may be disclosed before the service is authorized.
16. Testing
You authorize Reboot Lab to conduct reasonable functional testing before and after repair.
Testing may include charging, cameras, microphones, speakers, buttons, wireless connectivity, displays, touch functionality, ports, sensors, software functions, and other systems relevant to the service.
A Device that cannot be unlocked or fully tested may be returned with limited post-repair verification.
17. Mail-In Service
Customers using mail-in service must package Devices appropriately and follow the shipping instructions provided by Reboot Lab.
The Customer should not ship hazardous, swollen, severely damaged, recalled, or otherwise restricted batteries or Devices contrary to carrier requirements.
Shipping carriers are independent third parties.
Loss or damage occurring while a package is in carrier possession may be subject to the carrier's terms, declared-value limitations, insurance, and claims procedures.
Customers should retain shipping documentation and tracking information.
18. Return Shipping
Reboot Lab will return mail-in Devices according to the shipping method and terms applicable to the repair.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate return address.
Additional shipping charges caused by an incorrect address, refused delivery, repeated delivery attempts, or a requested shipping change may be charged to the Customer where appropriate.
19. Mobile and On-Site Service
Mobile or on-site services are available only within Reboot Lab's current service area and are subject to technician availability and repair eligibility.
The Customer must provide a reasonably safe and lawful environment in which the technician can perform the authorized work.
Certain repairs may be unsuitable for completion on-site and may require transfer of the Device to an appropriate repair workspace.
20. Completion Times
Any repair-time or completion estimate is an estimate unless Reboot Lab expressly guarantees a completion time in writing.
Completion may be affected by diagnostics, parts availability, shipping delays, manufacturer systems, additional damage, workload, customer authorization delays, or circumstances outside Reboot Lab's reasonable control.
21. Payment
Payment is due according to the quote, invoice, checkout terms, or other payment instructions applicable to the transaction.
Reboot Lab may require deposits, parts prepayment, diagnostic charges, shipping charges, or full payment before beginning or releasing certain work.
Devices may be withheld from return to the extent permitted by applicable law until amounts properly due for authorized services are paid.
When the Reboot Lab payment portal is available, the repair balance is retrieved from the applicable MyRepairApp ticket and verified again before a payment is completed. The amount shown may reflect ticket items, parts, discounts, taxes, recorded payments, and other adjustments contained in the current ticket record.
Online payments may be processed through Square or PayPal, which are independent third-party payment processors. Reboot Lab does not receive or store the Customer's full card number through the payment portal. The Customer is also subject to the applicable processor's terms, privacy practices, authentication requirements, and transaction rules.
A payment may be declined, delayed, placed in a pending state, reversed, or otherwise affected by the processor, the Customer's financial institution, network conditions, fraud controls, or other circumstances outside Reboot Lab's reasonable control. Customers should contact Reboot Lab before submitting another payment when a payment appears pending, duplicated, or inconsistent with the expected ticket balance.
Refunds, voids, payment corrections, and payment disputes are handled according to the applicable transaction facts, Reboot Lab's policies, the processor's procedures, and applicable law. A payment confirmation does not change the authorized repair scope, quote terms, warranty terms, or the Customer's obligations for separately authorized charges.
21A. AKKO Memberships and Protection Plans
Reboot Lab LLC may act as an independent AKKO partner by promoting or assisting with enrollment in eligible AKKO memberships or protection plans. Any AKKO membership or protection plan is separate from Reboot Lab's repair services, repair warranty, quote, invoice, and these Repair Terms.
The customer's agreement for an AKKO membership or protection plan is with AKKO and/or the applicable coverage provider. Enrollment, eligibility, device registration, covered events, exclusions, deductibles, claims, billing, automatic renewal, cancellation, and benefit limits are governed by the applicable AKKO Membership Agreement, Protection Plan, and other official AKKO terms.
Reboot Lab does not determine whether a claim is covered, approve or deny AKKO benefits, control AKKO billing or renewals, or guarantee eligibility or payment of any AKKO benefit. Customers must direct membership, billing, cancellation, and claim questions to AKKO through the contact information or account portal provided in their AKKO materials.
AKKO memberships and protection plans are not Reboot Lab insurance or repair warranties. AKKO describes its plans as memberships and service contracts rather than insurance, except where a separately identified coverage product is provided by an applicable licensed provider. Current plan terms and coverage documents control over summaries or descriptions appearing on this website.
22. Repair Warranty
Any Reboot Lab repair warranty will be governed by the warranty terms provided with the applicable repair.
Unless expressly included, a repair warranty does not cover:
- new or unrelated damage;
- accidental damage;
- drops or impacts;
- cracked or broken components occurring after service;
- liquid exposure;
- misuse or abuse;
- unauthorized subsequent repair or modification;
- malware or software problems unrelated to the repair;
- failure of unrelated components;
- normal battery degradation;
- customer-supplied parts; or
- conditions resulting from pre-existing damage.
A warranty claim may require inspection of the Device before coverage can be determined.
23. Customer-Supplied Parts
If Reboot Lab agrees to install a part supplied by the Customer, Reboot Lab does not warrant the quality, authenticity, compatibility, condition, or durability of that part.
Reboot Lab may limit its warranty on such a repair to workmanship associated with installation.
If a customer-supplied part is defective or incompatible, additional labor may be charged for removal, reinstallation, diagnostics, or subsequent work when disclosed and authorized.
24. Unrepairable Devices
Some Devices cannot be successfully repaired.
If a Device is determined to be unrepairable or the Customer declines a revised quote, the Device may be reassembled and returned where reasonably possible.
A Device that arrived partially disassembled, severely damaged, corroded, missing components, or otherwise compromised may not always be capable of being restored to its exact pre-service physical condition.
Applicable diagnostic, shipping, special-order, or authorized service charges may remain due even when the Device cannot ultimately be repaired.
25. Special-Order Parts
Parts ordered specifically for a Customer's Device may be subject to deposit, prepayment, cancellation, or restocking conditions disclosed before ordering.
A Customer's decision not to proceed after a nonreturnable special-order part has been purchased may not entitle the Customer to reimbursement of that part cost where this condition was disclosed before authorization.
26. Devices Not Claimed
Customers are responsible for responding to reasonable communications concerning completed, declined, or otherwise returnable Devices.
If a Device remains unclaimed, Reboot Lab may provide notices using the contact information supplied by the Customer.
Unclaimed Devices will be handled in accordance with applicable Georgia law.
Nothing in these Repair Terms is intended to permit Reboot Lab to take ownership of or dispose of customer property earlier than permitted by applicable law.
27. Replacement or Exchange Devices
If Reboot Lab provides a replacement, exchange, loaner, or substitute Device under a separate program, additional terms may apply to that Device.
Those terms will control the loan, exchange, deposit, loss, damage, return, or replacement obligations associated with the program.
28. Independent Repair Provider
Reboot Lab LLC is an independent third-party repair provider.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Reboot Lab is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, authorized by, or officially connected with the manufacturer of a Device submitted for service.
Manufacturer trademarks are used only as necessary for identification, compatibility, and service-description purposes.
29. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REBOOT LAB WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM A REPAIR OR SERVICE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REBOOT LAB'S LIABILITY FOR DIRECT PHYSICAL LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO A DEVICE CAUSED BY REBOOT LAB'S FAILURE TO EXERCISE REASONABLE CARE WILL NOT EXCEED THE REASONABLE FAIR-MARKET VALUE OF THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Nothing in these Repair Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
30. No Guarantee of Data
No repair, diagnostic, backup, transfer, or recovery service constitutes a guarantee that customer data will remain intact or recoverable.
The Customer remains responsible for maintaining independent backups whenever reasonably possible.
31. Force Majeure and Events Outside Reasonable Control
Reboot Lab is not responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control, including carrier delays, supplier shortages, severe weather, utility failures, internet outages, government actions, or similar circumstances.
32. Privacy
Personal information and customer data associated with repair services are handled according to the Reboot Lab Privacy Policy and applicable service-specific disclosures.
33. Governing Law
These Repair Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.
34. Severability
If a provision of these Repair Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the fullest extent permitted by law.
35. Entire Repair Agreement
These Repair Terms, together with the applicable quote, repair authorization, ticket, invoice, warranty terms, and any service-specific written terms, constitute the terms applicable to the repair transaction.
Where a transaction-specific written term expressly conflicts with these general Repair Terms, the more specific transaction term will control for that transaction.
36. Customer Acceptance
By signing a repair authorization, electronically accepting these Repair Terms, submitting a Device under a process that clearly requires acceptance, or otherwise expressly authorizing service subject to these Repair Terms, the Customer acknowledges that they have had an opportunity to review and accept these terms.
